About Us

Ventura County Adult Abuse Protection Committee (VCAAPC) is your dedicated community resource committed to raising awareness, preventing abuse, and protecting the rights and dignity of older and dependent adults across Ventura County. Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and organizations with the tools, education, and support needed to recognize, report, and prevent all forms of adult abuse—be it physical, emotional, financial, or neglect.

Our Mission

At VCAAPC, our core purpose is to safeguard the well-being and safety of vulnerable adults in Ventura County. We work collaboratively with law enforcement, social services, medical professionals, legal advocates, and community organizations to coordinate a comprehensive and effective response to adult abuse.

We are here to make sure no voice goes unheard and no individual suffers in silence.

What We Do

  • Public Education & Outreach: Hosting workshops, distributing resources, and promoting community awareness on recognizing and preventing elder and dependent adult abuse.
  • Policy Advocacy: Supporting legislation and initiatives that protect vulnerable adults and improve reporting and response systems.
  • Professional Training: Educating caregivers, service providers, and first responders on identifying warning signs and reporting responsibilities.
  • Community Collaboration: Partnering with agencies and stakeholders to strengthen protection systems across Ventura County.
  • Resource Referral: Guiding individuals and families to the appropriate services, whether they need legal help, shelter, or emergency intervention.

Why VCAAPC Matters

Elder and dependent adult abuse is often hidden—but its impact is devastating. At VCAAPC, we believe in a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, and we are committed to fostering a safer, more compassionate Ventura County where all adults can age with dignity and security.

Our committee consists of dedicated experts, volunteers, and advocates who bring experience from social work, healthcare, law enforcement, elder law, and victim support services. Every initiative we lead is grounded in compassion, accountability, and a relentless drive to protect those most at risk.
